Wordless Wednesday – What We Permit
Here are some pictures of some of the loads that we permit across the nation. Very cool!
Backup Often
Recently I learned a very difficult lesson, and that’s to do backups often. It’s something that my boyfriend, Steve, tried to teach me over and over, but I guess sometimes you have to learn the hard way. That’s exactly what happened on Friday. Read the rest of this entry »

How Does the FTC Rules Affect You?
As a blogger who loves free stuff, and who occasionally posts for pay, the FTC guidelines on Testimonials & Endorsements for bloggers really concerned me. I worried that maybe my well of free things and tiny Huge payments would dry up. Or at the very least I’d have to pay extra taxes or penalties if I didn’t disclose my relationships properly. Luckily, there are a lot of smarter more informed people out there in the internet who really understand what’s going on. So here are some great articles to help you figure out these new rules. My Story – How I Got Started
My Business:
Have you ever seen those big oversized trucks come down the highway? The ones with the big “Oversize” or “Wide Load” signs on the front and back of the truck? Well, those trucks need permits from each state that they go through. Permits that tell them what roads they can travel on and when they can drive down them. What I do is get those permits from each of the states (and sometimes the cities or counties they go through) for the truckers.
All of the work is done over the internet, the phone and fax. Which is why this is a perfect home based business. Customers don’t come to the office, I don’t have to travel anywhere to get the permits, and there is no inventory to store. The downside is that some of the permits are extremely expensive and some of them have to be paid for at time of purchase. By expensive I mean upwards around $800. We charge extra for permits that are over a certain amount though, so it is worth it. Read the rest of this entry »
New Look – New Direction
I’ve changed some things around on this website and with the new look will come a new direction. I’m going to focus mostly on my small business, how I got here, and the resources I’ve used. Hopefully, this will be an inspiration to you, whether you’re just starting out or have been working at home for a long time. I’m a simple WAHM and I hope to make it simple for you to be one too! Watch for my story to unfold in the next few days!
Review – Business2Bloggers
For a while now, I’ve been doing a few reviews here and there, on this site, and my others. I have one website, Books4Moms, that I only do book reviews on. I love it, mostly because I get lots of great free books, but also because I get lots of great free books! Of course there are some not so great free books, but the point is the GREAT free books. I’ve done other reviews on Best Homeschool Place for homeschool services, programs, curriculum, books, games, and even some movies. I’ve also done some reviews for TV shows on my personal website, Wyndsong Writes. Reviews are fun! One, because you get something free, usually it’s something good and fun, and then you have something to blog about! Something more than just, “Hi, My name is Christine, and I’m a mommy blogger”. That’s all the GOOD stuff about reviewing products and stuff…. so what’s the bad stuff? Read the rest of this entry »
