Review – Asus EeePC 900 Netbook
Asus Eee PC 900
A few months ago Steve and I decided to buy one of these cute little netbooks for each of us. We both wanted a smaller laptop and the price was right. The ones that we bought are refurbished and we got them at a Pre-Christmas sale for $145 each. They are tiny, but powerful, just what we wanted.
The reality of them is a little less than what we wanted though. They are quite small and powerful, but the size is what we have the most problem with. I’ve got rather small hands, but the keyboard is so small that it makes touch typing very difficult. When I’m trying to write a blog, like this one right here, I’ll end up mispelling words more than normal, siply becuase my fingers are reaching to far for the right key. LOL It’s actually kiinda funny, but irritating sometimes too.
The other thing that I don’t like is that the screen is very small. It makes my regular laptop screen look like a humongous wide screen. Most of the webpages that I read on the netbook have to be scrolled quite a bit to read a full page. Maybe I’ a little lazy on something like that, but I don’t want to have to scroll through every web page I’m reading.
However, the good things about this tiny little dynamo do outweight the negatives. It’s very powerful, and can handle most source or ram hungry programs. I can run my tweet deck on this thing without it slowing down at all. Sometimes I’ll have my little netbook in my office set up just to keep an eye on tweetdeck for the conversations going on.
With a 900 ghz prossesor, 160 gb of hd space, and 1 g of ram, this is a very good little netbook. It also comes with a built in webcam into the monitor. I would highly recommend this little netbook for anyone who needs a very portable laptop but with the same amount of power as a bigger one. It can fit into any purse or book bag, which means it’d be great for a student.
