As a blogger who loves free stuff, and who occasionally posts for pay, the FTC guidelines on Testimonials & Endorsements for bloggers really concerned me.  I worried that maybe my well of free things and tiny Huge payments would dry up.  Or at the very least I’d have to pay extra taxes or penalties if I didn’t disclose my relationships properly.  Luckily, there are a lot of smarter more informed people out there in the internet who really understand what’s going on.  So here are some great articles to help you figure out these new rules. For a while now, I’ve been doing a few reviews here and there, on this site, and my others.  I have one website, Books4Moms, that I only do book reviews on.  I love it, mostly because I get lots of great free books, but also because I get lots of great free books!  Of course there are some not so great free books, but the point is the GREAT free books.  I’ve done other reviews on Best Homeschool Place for homeschool services, programs, curriculum, books, games, and even some movies.  I’ve also done some reviews for TV shows on my personal website, Wyndsong Writes.  Reviews are fun!  One, because you get something free, usually it’s something good and fun, and then you have something to blog about!  Something more than just, “Hi, My name is Christine, and I’m a mommy blogger”.  That’s all the GOOD stuff about reviewing products and stuff…. so what’s the bad stuff? Don’t you just hate it when you really need to update your blog and draw a blank? Well, one of the best ways to jump start those creative juices is to simply look at the calendar. How simple is that?

Every month, week and day, there are some really strange, fun and downright funny holidays and observances celebrated everywhere. In fact, you can even make up your own ‘holiday’ to celebrate on your blog with your readers – that’s how easy it is to come up with days of posts at a time. But you don’t have to make it up yourself. It’s hard enough coming up with a post. Here’s a blogging calendar I found that feature some of these holidays. The other nice thing is, it has room to jot down your own ideas and you can use it to literally plan out the year’s content – or just a month or two ahead if you’re not the planning type. This really helps keep your blog going without rushing to write last minute posts.

Download and check it out for yourself. I bet you can find a couple of posts just off those dates you can write about. In fact, you can write about them right away and schedule them. Your readers will have fun and marvel at how you are so on top of the holidays and seasons.

What Is Mamapedia?

Mamapedia.com is a new site – still in Beta – that has taken the advice given by thousands and thousands of moms at Mamasource.com and has made it searchable in question format. Imagine a Google that searches just for the advice of real moms given to other moms! That is Mamapedia.

This blog has been dormant for a while now. As you can see from the last post, it’s been dormant since February. I took over this blog about a month ago, but haven’t had time to start really sprucing it up until now. So these are the things that I’m going to be doing with this blog.

Writing about my own home based company
Posts about great products to help you and me with our WAH adventures
Posts about scams that prey on WAHMs
WAHM blogs and websites
and much more for making WAHM Simple!

Also, in the coming months there will be some changes to the look and feel of the blog. Mostly to make it my home, but also because I’m going to be taking a blog designing course, that will hopefully be a great money making venture! I hope that you’ll enjoy spending time here with me, as my home based business grows. I hope to help as many moms as I can to make being a WAHM as simple as possible!
